Bookmarks missing after restarting

Could not find my firefox bookmarks afterI restarted my laptop (with WinXP) this morning.I guess I did not shutdown properly last night. No big deal ..found a backup copy at the addresss mentioned below and reimported them.
C:\Documents and Settings\logon-name\Application Data \Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\0kail0cj.default\bookmarkbackups
